With the Halloween decorations still up, it’s probably a bit too early to string up the Christmas lights, but it’s not too early to spread the word about this year’s Vile Christmas. We always look forward to this show and this year is no different.

One of the things that makes Vile Christmas a lot of fun is that’s it’s one of the only occasions that we play in Toronto. In fact, I believe that VR hasn’t played in Toronto since last year’s Christmas show in 2007. A discussion as to why we don’t play in my hometown more than once or twice per year is probably best left to a different blog post, but that makes this show all the more exciting.

The show details are:

Saturday, Dec 13, 2008
@ Holy Joes (Queen & Bathurst)
Toronto, ON

“Left of Here” will be joining us at this show. We have borrowed heavily from this band in the past. Bass player Dave “Biggie” Bigwood toured the Maritimes with us back in 2006. Drummer Richard Cambridge also happens to be the latest in a long, long, long line of Vile Richard drummers. He is, however, the first drummer in the band to be named “Richard”, which, when you think about it, is nothing to sniff at.

There are more special guests on the way and we’ll also have our Vile renditions of your favourite Christmas carols as well to round out the evening. Andrew will enjoy an evening not spent renovating his new house, while Marc and Richard will have a few hours of relief from diaper duty, so it’s win-win for all concerned.

I’ll post more details when I have them, but for now, please mark your calendars!
